TONY GWYNN DIES OF CANCER AT AGE 54
MLB Hall of Famer, Tony Gwynn, a 15-Time-All-Star who won eight titles with San Diego Padres just died (06/16/201).
Gwynn had been battling cancer since 2010, and even had surgery to remove cancerous lymph nodes from his parotid gland. Malignant tumors were removed from the inside of his right cheek in 2012 and went on leave of absence from coaching recently for treatment reasons.
A man who whole career started and ended in San Diego deserve to be celebrated. He played college baseball at San Diego State and created a 20 season hall of fame career with the Padres from 1982-2001.
Gywn played two world series for the Padres in 1984 and 1998.
He is survived by his wife, Alicia, son,Tony Jr and daughter Anisha Nicole.
