Wayne Rooney took to his Facebook page to apologize to the English fans. The comment has already received over 110,000 likes an indication that the fans sympathize with him. He had received massive criticism from English fans following his poor performance against Italy in their opening match. He came back strongly equalizing Luis Suarez goal during their 2-1 defeat to Uruguay.
The 28 year old striker is not ready to retire and will be in action live at the 2018 world cup games in Russia.
